Watches Made in Germany

We are very proud of the fact that all Junkers watches are designed and manufactured in Germany with great attention to detail and can therefore bear the 'Made In Germany' label on the dial.

At Junkers, we see 'Made in Germany' not just as a seal of quality and an indication of origin, but as a commitment to quality and transparency that we live by every day. Find out more about the process from the development of the initial idea to the production of every single one of our watches in Germany.

From the sketch to your wrist

Good things take time

The ideas for all Junkers watches are developed in beautiful Munich. We brainstorm together in our office, draw various designs by hand and discuss them passionately and constructively. Only then does the actual design begin with the first technical drawings by our small design team with many years of passion for and experience with watches. We experiment with different compositions, materials, textures and colours to put together and select all the details. It takes many prototypes and a lot of patience before a new model or series is created. Many months often pass before we are really satisfied. The best things take time.

Once all the details have been finalised, each Junkers watch is individually assembled by hand in Germany. All components are carefully selected and shipped to Rhineland-Palatinate. There, they are assembled with precision and skill by experienced watchmakers until all the components come together to form a unique watch. Each movement is thoroughly inspected before it is professionally installed. The hands are inserted using precision tools and the case is screwed together. The glass is then placed in position.

Once the watch has been assembled, a final check is carried out to ensure that it runs smoothly, is undamaged and can withstand the specified water pressure. Only when everything has been approved and meets our quality standards do we polish your watch and pack it carefully until we prepare it for dispatch to you.

What does 'Made in Germany' mean?

'Made in Germany' and international components

'Made in Germany' and the use of international components may seem surprising at first glance. At Junkers, we attach great importance to transparency and would therefore like to provide a comprehensive answer to this question.

'Made in Germany' stands for 'Manufactured in Germany'. However, this does not necessarily mean that all the components used in the development and manufacture of our watches also come from Germany.

Some components of our watches are not manufactured in Germany. Certain components would simply be too expensive for watches that are not part of our premium series and other components come from traditional manufacturers abroad. For example, the ETA movements we use come from Switzerland, although they are of course assembled in Germany. The same applies to the movements from MIYOTA and Seiko, which we source from Japan.

Regardless of their country of origin, we select all components and producers for all Junkers watches with the utmost care. We pay attention to expertise, experience and professionalism as well as a shared understanding of values as the basis for a long-term partnership, which enables us to offer high-quality and unique watches.
